The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) delivered the Employer Validated Work Readiness
project in 2015 which identified a number of prerequisites for the successful transition of individuals into sustainable employment. The project established the work readiness expectations of Tasmanian employers, that is, the attributes an individual must display for an employer to consider them 'work ready'. This project was informed through significant employer consultation, job seeker preperation and employer validation. An output of this project was the Work Readiness Tool
In 2016, TCCI commenced the Worker Ready Businesses pilot program to identify, test and evaluate the elements required to support new employees, job seekers and those transitioning into the workforce to become fully productive members of the workforce. The Glenorchy Work Readiness program (a further iteration of the TCCI Work Readiness suite) was delivered during this pilot program and several employers tested their worker readiness by hosting participants from the Work Readiness program.
